The Jalbert Family Looks To The Next 50
It’s hard to believe 2018 has come to an end, but what a year it’s been! We celebrated our 50th year of service to the seacoast community, a milestone we’re extremely proud of. We truly couldn’t have ...
C&J Bus Lines will officially be 50 years old very soon. On Monday, June 18, our service and our people will have spent five decades logging millions of miles bringing riders like you to the places you need to go. You’ll forgive us if we feel a little nostalgic about this particular milestone.
Today, we operate 30 motorcoaches, have more than 100 valued employees, and move more than 700,000 people per year. It’s our honor and privilege to be the transportation choice for so many commuters, day trippers, and families. We’re very proud of our service in the community and the work we’ve done to earn your ridership.
That commitment hasn’t changed in the last 50 years, but much else has.
The year our service began with owner Jim Jalbert’s parents Joe and Bertha operating out of a small garage in Dover, NH, was 1968, which proved to be an auspicious year. Lyndon Johnson was president and gasoline was (on average) .34 cents a gallon, and while C&J Travel, Inc., took riders back and forth from Dover to Logan Airport, here’s what was happening in America:
Fifty years later, we are still taking riders to and from Logan Airport from Dover. Instead of Checker Aero-Buses, we now run environmentally-friendly motorcoaches, and instead of a single route, we now serve New York City, Logan Airport, South Station, and locations from the northern coast of Massachusetts to Ogunquit, ME. We feel lucky to say we’re growing every year and finding new ways to better serve our riders, and we look forward to finding more opportunities to do so over the next 50 years.
We hope you’ll join us in celebrating our 50th birthday on Monday, and will take the time to share your favorite C&J memory with us. Thank you all for your support over the last five decades!
