We know how fast summer can feel: one minute you’re saying that you’d like to plan a trip somewhere, and the next minute summer is over and we’re back into our fall routines. Don’t let this summer pass you by! Ride with C&J Bus Lines into New York City for a long weekend. Plan the perfect getaway for you and a loved one or a group of friends.
C&J takes all the hassle out of driving into the city and the worry out of parking your car for a weekend. We drop our riders off at Port Authority in Manhattan so you don’t have to worry about taking public transportation into the city. To make your ride as comfortable as possible, C&J buses have seating with extra legroom, free Wi-Fi, power outlets, and a galley filled with complimentary refreshments and snacks.
We offer service to and from New York City from Portsmouth and Dover NH, Tewksbury MA, and Ogunquit ME. C&J also recently launched Find My Bus, which allows our riders to track their buses in real-time.
So, now that you’ve booked your tickets with C&J Bus Lines, what should you plan to do for three days in New York City? We’ve got a few suggestions that you’re sure to love.
First thing’s first: check into your hotel room. C&J has partnered with Marriott to offer our riders a 15% discount on select Marriott hotels. Once you’ve unpacked, you’ll probably want to stretch your legs. We suggest going to the Chelsea neighborhood to check out The High Line and stroll through the beautiful outdoor park space. You can even pick up a quick meal from one of the many food vendors that set up shop for the summer. Try some crispy empanadas from La Sonrisa Empanadas or a strong iced coffee from Hungry Ghost (you’ll need your energy for the day, after all).
End the day with a meal at Hudson Yards, which recently went through a massive redevelopment project that’s transformed the entire area. Try Mar at Mercado Little Spain for tapas and paella that will leave you hungry for more. If you’d rather grab a drink and enjoy the views, try Queensyard.
Start the day strong with brunch from Sadelle’s in SoHo. Their bagels are among the best in the city and their french toast will please even the pickiest of eaters. Then, hit the town for some shopping in SoHo! Within a few blocks, you’ll find Adidas’ Originals flagship store, Patagonia, Bloomingdale’s, and Housing Works Bookstore Cafe.
Spend the rest of your afternoon at the New Museum, which is minutes from SoHo. Exhibits are always interactive and colorful, so you’re bound to be entertained. If you’re more in the mood for a night out, venture to Greenwich Village to check out some live jazz music at the Village Vanguard. This club is famous among New Yorkers, so buy tickets ahead of time!
Before you need to get back on one of C&J’s buses and head home, take the time to get a delicious breakfast in Chinatown. Nom Wah Tea Parlor is the gold-standard of dim sum in New York City. Feel free to order several dishes to share as a table – we love the assortment of different dumplings offered on their menu.
C&J strives to make travel as easy and stress-free as possible, so you can enjoy every minute of your long weekend. This summer, take a long weekend and travel to New York City to try new foods and see new sights! Book your tickets ahead of time and start planning your weekend!
